Zhang Lei

In the river, before the door, a deserted boast is moored;
Poplars and althaeas stand by a hedge low and short.
Drought and locusts have cleared the autumn farmland a thousand li across;
In a month for reaping, only wild sorghum remains, forlorn and shivering.
